Welcome to the Mary Matteson-Parrish Art Gallery, located on D-101, Building D. Here, visitors can explore a variety of art exhibitions for free and open to the public. The Conroe Art League also organizes workshops and art classes for those interested in learning the art of drawing or painting. Conroe is a delightful mix of nature, history, art and recreation nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas.
The red brick building, built in 1911, remains in perfect condition and has an art exhibition open to the public. If you're looking for an art fix, head to the Madeley Building in downtown Conroe, where an art gallery awaits you. The Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) also hosts a number of exhibitions featuring professional and student artists and artworks of diverse genres. The 56th annual student art exhibition showcases more than 130 works of art by MCCC students.
In addition to the art gallery, MCCC also organizes related activities, programs, and conferences. The Mary Matteson-Parrish Art Gallery has been involved with many civic, business, political and community development groups. It provides them with leadership and support, including initiatives related to the arts. Concerts are also held at the gallery.
